Is it time for you to get your teeth straightened? There are many types of braces out there to fit each individual’s needs. No longer is the standard, traditional braces the only option. For those who know they need to be straightened, but don’t want the braces to be so visible, there are other options such as Invisalign, MTM Clear Aligners, Ligual. or Hidden Braces, and more. Check out this cool infographic to learn more about what each type can do!

Traditional Braces

Metal or Ceramic brackets connected to wires by ties or elastic bands between your teeth, these are perhaps the most common type of braces. This type of braces are typically the least expensive option, and allow you to add personality through the colored elastic bands that connect the brackets.

In-Ovation Self-Ligating Braces

In-Ovation Braces are created with a connection of built-in clips holding the wires together, while allowing for free movement. These braces are more comfortable, and work faster than traditional braces. It also allows for shorter orthodontist appointments and fewer office visits.

Hidden (Lingual) Braces

Lingual Braces are very similar to either traditional or In-Ovation braces. The exception here is the bracket is mounted to the inside of the tooth, making them nearly undetectable. Lingual Braces are great for athletes as they are less likely to injure the mouth’s interior.

Clear  Aligners

Edge Orthodontics feature 2 different types of Clear Aligner Braces: MTM Clear Aligners and Invisalign. This type of braces feature a series of smooth, comfortable trays made of nearly invisible plastic. They gently and gradually shift teeth into their new positions, while remaining invisible to those around you. Clear Aligners are also removed for eating and brushing, making it easier to keep your teeth clean.
